Announcements for this week

                                                          Pentecost

If you are a newcomer or a visitor—welcome!  Please fill out a contact card found in your pew.  Let’s get to know one another!  St. Joseph’s is a place of worship, prayer, fellowship and study.  Normally we pray Morning Prayer at 7:30 a.m. and Evening Prayer at 5:30 p.m. Monday through Friday.  Please join us for prayer and fellowship whenever you can.  The “poor plate” located by the baptismal font funds our fellowship and outreach ministries.  Thank you for your gifts!
Clergy schedule: Karen’s normal Sabbath is Monday.  In the event of a pastoral emergency, she is available other days on her cell phone. Also, Deacon James can be contacted by cell phone or jamestoddemail@gmail.com

Our Wednesday night class is at 7:30 pm following a potluck at 6:45.  We are reading The Book of Forgiving: The Fourfold Path for Healing Ourselves and Our World  by Desmond Tutu and Mpho Tutu.  Please come join us for conversation and invite a friend!

Saturday workday scheduled. We will have an indoor/outdoor workday on Saturday, June 22.  If you have them, please bring work gloves and your favorite cleaning equipment and join us anytime between 9 a.m. and noon.  Afterward, we will have a BBQ and potluck lunch outside (weather permitting) or in the commons area of the parish hall.  There is a sign-up sheet on the bulletin board in the parish hall. Please join us for all or any part of the workday and meal.

Collection for St. Joseph’s community in need:   We invite you to bring any of the following items and place them in the basket at the back of the church for our breakfast and outreach needs; these items are part of the offerings of our life and labor:

toilet paper/paper towels                            socks
tee shirts and jeans (34—38)                      quarters
men’s underwear (32, 34, 36)                     grits
Random notes: Please mute all communications devices. Bathrooms are available throughout the morning in the Parish Hall.  Our bread is gluten-free; but if you wish to take Communion in only one kind, please cross your arms over your chest. Be sure to join us for continued fellowship in the parish hall after the service.
Does your change jar need extra space? We are collecting “quarters for cleaning” for our neighbors who need to do their laundry at the laundromat.  Each load costs about $5 in quarters, so if you have quarters you’d like to donate, just put them in a baggie marked for laundry!  Thank you!
