Announcements for this week

                                                                           Christmas I

If you are a newcomer or a visitor—welcome! Please fill out a contact card found in your pew. Let’s get to know one another! St. Joseph’s is a place of worship, prayer, fellowship and study. Normally we pray Morning Prayer at 7:30 a.m. and Evening Prayer at 5:30 p.m. Monday through Friday. Please join us for prayer and fellowship whenever you can. The “poor plate” located by the baptismal font funds our fellowship and outreach ministries. Thank you for your gifts!

Does your change jar need extra space? We are collecting “quarters for cleaning” for our neighbors who need to do their laundry at the laundromat. Each load costs about $5 in quarters, so if you have quarters you’d like to donate, just put them in a baggie marked for laundry! Thank you!

Collection for St. Joseph’s community in need: We invite you to bring any of the following items and place them in the basket at the back of the church for our breakfast and outreach needs; these items are part of the offerings of our life and labor.

ground coffee

toilet paper/paper towels

tee shirts and work pants (32—38)

men’s underwear (32, 34, 36)

travel or trial size toiletries

Don’t know what to do with all those extra 2019 calendars you get? Please pass on to Polly for citizen-client Writers Group at Wellness City here in Durham.

Prayer and Breakfast—The St. Joseph’s community prays Morning and Evening Prayer each weekday. Each day after Morning Prayer, we host a simple community breakfast for a dozen to two dozen people. As usual, the schedules of some people involved in this ministry change from time to time and so opportunities to serve on particular days will be opening up. If you may be called to this ministry, you can learn more by contacting Deacon James Todd at
